Conflicts with strangers views !

It was 6 in the evening when i boarded into the bus Alone which was from kolar to Bangalore. Even though it was 2 hours journey, i made myself comfortable in the seat next to window so that i wouldn't be too tired to next days work at office. I'm usually up for some conversation with the person next to me whenever i travel alone. But this time since i was on calls for like 45mins, i didn't greet the person next to me.

I was surprised when she started the conversation; she said hi, are you working in Kolar? And our conversation went on in introducing our self.
For this blog sake lets call her Cathy. Quick introduction about her: cathy, married to a Asst professor and works as lecturer in Nursing college. She is doing her PG from Rajiv Gandhi institute from Karnataka. She stayed in Bangalore for 4days.

Cathy :Its so easy to get IT job in Bangalore right?
me: (ya right, if so All B.E graduates in Bangalore would be employed :D ) Yes it is if you are talented enough.

Cathy: How do you live in Bangalore, there is so much traffic.?
Me: This time on her face, See when people from all over wants to come and stay in Bangalore, population increases and everyone has to travel so its common to have traffic jams. But I'm sure it will become better since Metro is also coming up.

Cathy: I stayed here for four days, there is nothing to see other than malls !
Me: Its a metropolitan city and IT hub of India. Still there are places like ulsoor lake, cubbon park, lalbagh, wonder la, Vidhan Soudha , Vishveshwariah Museum for the visitors to look for.

Cathy: But Our Hyderabad has Monuments like Golkonda, charminar.
Me: (Here people are only like monuments who embrace any culture or language :) ) I suggested to vistit Mysore palace.

And then we started conversing about which places are beautifull to visit.
She asked me if her English is fluent enough as she had to take up some exam to go to Canada. I gave her my feedback. And we left greeting each other all the best.

By this what i observed was, People will always find negatives in you or your place or your closed ones.
Sometimes we must not ignore it and try to tell the positives in everything.

In a conversation do not argue, be compose and speak. Appreciate the other one where ever needed. Share the positive energy to all. :)

Career Confusions !!

Aim for the sky :)
What is the answer you get when you ask a kid what he/she wants to become when they grow up?  Surely you can't get one answer for this. But whatever the child says it wouldn't think whether it is achievable or not. They just blindly Believe that they will achieve there dreams.
As we start growing up our dreams change, we will start making goals which are simpler to achieve rather than what we are capable of doing. This is the case with most of the people around us. Only few souls will actually take risk, work hard and do much more than what they are capable of, these are the few successful people we have in society. The reason for us not having big dreams may be because
  •  Would be raised in a orthodox family, where you wouldn't have come out of the shell to even think anything big.
  • Just following the conventional study-work routine.
  • Not having a platform to showcase the talents you got.
  • Fear of failing.
  • Waiting for someone else to guide you at every step, which rarely happens.
Now let me come back to the title of the post "career confusion". Everyone of us had to decide at some point of time what career path we are going to choose for rest of our life. There will be lot of confusions for most of us since we don't really know in which career path we will be happy and satisfied. Here I would like to give some points on choosing the career you would be happy with.
  • Do not just blindly listen to parents/friends/relatives on what course you have to do.
  • If you are intelligent but have no special talent like singing, dance, writing etc. , Join the course which has your interesting subject.
  • Do not  forget to keep practising what your passion is (dance, sports, writing), this will keep you happy.
  • Get over the fear of failure, and start up something on your own. As India needs lots of entrepreneurs  and there are many opportunities as well.
I would want to conclude saying that choose what you are really interested in rather just following someone.
You should try and fail but shouldn't fail to try as said by Stephen Kaggwa.

Visit to Belaku :)

Belaku is a place where people who are compared to God stay, That is children :) I don't want to call it orphanage, since it is the place where we can find more love, attachment, bonding amongst each other which we don't find in actual families nowadays.

It was a sunday when i had decided to visit this orphanage with few of my friends for making a short movie which will help to promote belaku and create awareness in public. God, the way kids reacted when we went there was simply Astonishing. They made us a part of there life within no time. The kids had all the facilities like proper food, clothing and education. They were always occupied with some or the other work, which made me realize how much time i waste. They were doing things with interest .:)

I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and was inspired. Making short movie was successfull with the kids co-operation and love. It was more natural then acting for me with the kids around. :)

I hope more people take out the hesitation and visit such wonderfull places when find some time.

This is what the out come is -->

Transition From student to working Individual !

The days where in we use to love going to college not because we love attending classes, but we could meet friends, gossip, bunk classes and go for movies. We use to crib about doing small assignments, slog and give our internals. Mock at teachers, tease all the friends and just lived the days without tensions. When it came to placements, we were worried where we shall get placed. Competition was so much that we din't bother whether we all friends be together. Learnt event management through Fests, showcased all our talents in shows. Made good friends, fought with few. Some we thought would be friends for life, few we never wanted to meet.

The real world welcomed us when we entered the corporate world.!! We had to go to company, whether we love or not. The friends we thought will be together, became apart. Small assignments with our own deadlines became projects that have to be finished before the deadlines given by manager. To watch favourite movies had to wait till weekend. To meet friends, should see if we get any free time. First month salary gave immense happiness and made us feel like independant individual. The dreams becoming strong and big and seemed achievable. Communicating with new people and making ourselves adaptable to new environment becomes a challenge. Some people get frustrated, some starts loving what they do. Do what you love, love what you do. :):)

Nobel Prize equivalence for contribution in Computer Science

Turing awards are annual awards given to an individual who has contributed to technology related to computer field. The work must be having importance and should be lasting. Turing awards are considered as equivalent to Nobel Prize for computing. These awards are given by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), which was founded in the year 1947 as the world’s first scientific and educational computing society. It is announced every year in February-March and awarded in the ACM Award Banquet in June. The award is named after Alan Matheson Turing, a British scientist, mathematician at The University of Manchester, He is considered as Father of Modern computer science.
Alan perlis is the First recipient of this award in 1966 for his influence in the area of advanced programming techniques and compiler construction. Frances E. Allen of IBM, in 2006, was the first female recipient in the award's forty year history for pioneering contributions to the theory and practice of optimizing compiler techniques that laid the foundation for modern optimizing compilers and automatic parallel execution. But just two years later we had one more women recipient Barbara liskov in 2008. Turing award hasn’t been awarded to an Indian citizen in the history of these awards. Raj reddy along with  Edward Feigenbaum has been awarded in 1994 for pioneering the design and construction of large scale artificial intelligence systems, demonstrating the practical importance and potential commercial impact of artificial intelligence technology. Raj reddy was an US citizen by then.
Importance:
Being a Graduate from computer science background, it is important for me to know the excellence awards given in the field for computer science. Since Turing awards are recognized as highest distinction in Computer science one has to have at least the basic knowledge about these awards. Nobel prizes were issued to the fields in physics, chemistry, physiology, literature and peace but had not included computer science. It is important to acknowledge ones work by appreciating through awards. It motivates the person to contribute his work to the society. Since Turing awards are considered as equivalent to Nobel Prize, one would work hard to achieve it. It is an honor to get the Turing award.
I would love to end this post by saying more Indians must contribute in the field of computer science and have there names on list of Turing award winners.

First one special one :)

Eliminate fear and suceed
I always wanted to write a blog. But use to take a step back thinking i'm not very good writer. If i don't do it, how can i judge myself? it will be like cheating my abilities. We must do what we fear of doing, this is what i'm implementing here. The passion to start writing a blog started when i wrote an article for one of my friend and realized how bad it was. If i think i'm bad at writing and just sit quite , i'm going to learn nothing. Practice makes man perfect{Also women;) }.
Let me just put down about myself in this post. I am an engineering student, though only few more days to become Engineer. Love to dance, make new friends, play badminton. Love being on stage so not a behind stage performer. Has craze for cars. A big cricket fan. I love myself more than anything in world. :)
Stay good and love all is my principle.
